Great work with homes and communities organisation livin recognised
We are thrilled that Cirrus has been named ‘Best L&D/HR Consultancy’ at the UK’s prestigious CIPD People Management Awards. This coveted award recognises our successful work with livin, a leading homes and communities organisation managing over 8,400 homes across County Durham.
This award celebrates consultancies who have worked in partnership with a client on a people-related project to address a strategic issue. The ‘Connected Leaders @Livin’ programme has developed leaders across the organisation to be more future-focused in line with livin’s ambitious growth plans.
The programme encouraged a more strategic business focus and helped to develop a ‘one livin’ mindset through increased collaboration to achieve shared goals.
Cirrus began by working with the senior management team to create a roadmap for change, which defined the activities and behavioural attributes needed to achieve business objectives. This collaborative process encouraged openness and deeply engaged leaders with change, and was rolled out across the wider leadership team.
This was followed by a series of workshops to equip leaders with the skills and behaviours to deliver the roadmap’s vision and strategy, in line with the unique Cirrus Connected Leadership methodology.
The programme’s greatest impact came from a series of team challenges running alongside the modular learning. Cross-functional teams of leaders worked together to create innovative solutions to business challenges. These team challenges were combined with group coaching throughout the process, which played an important part in shifting mindsets and changing behaviours.
100% of participants feel their leadership skills had improved as a result of the programme, and would recommend it. The vast majority say they now have a much more strategic focus. Collaboration has improved and leaders have become more ‘connected’ – both with each other and with external stakeholders and customers. Customer satisfaction has also improved.

Judges commented that, “This significant project demonstrated clear evidence of how Cirrus worked closely with the client to deliver the client’s strategic objectives. A collaborative process was implemented with leadership, management and staff to develop the roadmap for the strategic direction of the organisation. They clearly identified and worked through the cultural and practical challenges for livin in moving from a public sector mindset large organisation to a commercial small organisation. An all-encompassing approach was adopted with leaders becoming inspiring role models and empowering employees. Clear and insightful metrics were presented to demonstrate the progress made both financially and culturally. A common language and behavioural change around the strategic plan is helping to sustain the change and deliver for livin customers.”
