We are thrilled to welcome Michael Clark to our consulting team. Michael brings extensive international consulting experience to Cirrus as well as a passion for inspiring people to re-engage with the purpose of their organisations, encouraging creativity and deeper commitment.
Michael has worked in the field of HR and leadership development for over 25 years. He specialises in helping leaders to identify and align their personal mission and values with their organisations purpose to create a more congruent and sustainable leadership style. Michael is known for his close collaboration with client organisations, co-creating innovative content for impactful leadership development programmes.
Michael draws on a wide range of influences and models in his work and has a particular interest in systemic and narrative-based approaches. He finds particular inspiration in the works of Peter Drucker, Gregory Bateson, Stephen R Covey, Bert Hellinger and Carl Jung.
Michael spent many years living and working in Denmark. In 2000, he joined a small technology-based foreign exchange dealing company with big ambitions. This business grew to become Saxo Bank, one of the world’s leading investment banks. Over a six-year period, Michael was the bank’s strategic people lead, building the HR and L&D functions and helping to grow the organisation to over 1,000 employees.
Following a period as an independent consultant working with organisations across Europe and the Middle East, Michael joined leadership consultancy Mannaz as a client director. Initially based in the Danish headquarters, Michael moved to the Mannaz London office in 2016 and continued his work with major clients in the engineering, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and financial services sectors. His responsibilities included strategic programme design and delivery as well as key account relationship management.
So, what attracted Michael to Cirrus? “I was struck by the energy of the organisation,” he says. “Cirrus people are engaged, enthusiastic, and dedicated to making a real difference to the clients we work with. I was also drawn to the model of Connected Leadership which Cirrus has developed. It is a profound concept with very practical applications for developing more collaborative, customer-centred organisations.”
Michael was also impressed by the depth of digital capability at Cirrus. “There is real expertise here. I haven’t seen anything like the Strata online platform or the wide-ranging virtual delivery model anywhere else. Face-to-face facilitation will always be a key element in leadership development, but I can see that many major organisations now want to roll out significant leadership programmes in a virtual environment.”
