Standard Chartered and Cirrus have won a prestigious Business Culture International Award and were also finalists in the category of Best Learning Initiative at the Business Culture Awards in London on 29 November.
The awards recognise the Standard Chartered Leaders Drive Performance (LDP) programme, created in partnership with Cirrus. Judges described the programme as striking, impressive, innovative, creative and very comprehensive.
The LDP programme was launched in 2016 to deliver cultural transformation across Standard Chartered. To date, 1,125 leaders across 48 countries have taken part.
The programme is closely linked to Standard Chartered’s strategic goals and uses disruptive and immersive techniques to change behaviours and create a cultural shift in line with the bank’s overall growth strategy. It is practical, immersive and experiential, designed to build the leadership capability of leaders so they can become increasingly proactive and accountable for achieving strategic goals and cultural change.
The 100-day leadership learning journey starts with a highly innovative and immersive two-day workshop. Participants receive valuable coaching support throughout the journey and the Cirrus Strata digital platform enables online collaboration, project communications and scheduling. High quality online communications including video and animation ensure participants are actively engaged.
Since the programme was launched, engagement levels have increased and attrition has dropped. Many participants have said the programme is the best learning they have undertaken in their career and the best programme Standard Chartered has ever run. It is frequently described as “transformational”, “well thought-out” and “very informative”. It has also been highly recommended by participants to their colleagues.
Following the success of LDP, a new programme,Leaders Drive High Performance (LDHP) has been developed for more senior leaders. The new programme is an 18-week blended learning journey with an even sharper focus on leading a cultural shift and driving business growth. There is a much stronger emphasis on action and accountability for implementing action plans. The ultimate goal of LDHP is to develop senior leaders to drive the execution of Standard Chartered’s strategy by leading the creation of a high-performance culture with increased urgency and intensity.
